abstract: Machine learning is a computer model/algorithm/program that performs any learning about data, such as classification, pattern recognition, data mining or prediction. Machine learning is used in many applications within neuroscience and its use for MEG has increased in recent years. An introduction to Bayesian methods and graphical models will be provided. A summary/overview of several uses of machine learning for MEG will be discussed, including methods for noise/artifact removal, source localization, hierarchical models, fusion with fMRI, trial classification and brain computer interface.
