abstract:	The EU, US and even China are talking about revolutionary and transformative processes: Adressing sustainability implying radical change has come to a shared acknowledgement. Incrementalism leads to limitation- thus focus on radical innovation. Examples for important actors (e.g. green entrepreneurs, regional actors, infrastructural actors). Need for a stronger voice for the new systems as smart grids, combined heat and power, etc. Europoean leadership in climate change innovation. Conclusion: Need for a challenge led broad based innovation policy, strong discourse, shift to practive based social experimentation.
