description: Opening of the Tübingen iMRI-Unit SoSe 2011; Friday, April 15th 2011
abstract: High field intraoperative MR imaging applications have been available for about a decade. Several technological improvements have optimized this imaging modality to its current standard. Of all available intraoperative imaging systems, iMRI with a high-field magnet still provides the most accurate intraoperative images today. After several months of intense planning and construction we are very proud that the first state-of-the-art iMRI unit of its kind in Europe with a ceiling-mounted 1.5T magnet that enters the OR on demand will be opened in our Institution. On the occasion of this event we have organized an International Symposium on intraoperative MR imaging with lectures from pioneers and internationally renowned experts in this field. The lectures will be broadcast live via the website of our Department. A scientific program has been put together which is interesting not only for all neurosurgeons applying intraoperative imaging modalities but also for all other clinicians and scientists who are working in the field of intraoperative MR imaging.
