abstract: This module takes a long-run perspective of the macroeconomy. It will focus on savings, investment, growth and development, as well as international migration. Students will be enabled to i) critically evaluate macroeconomic models dealing with growth, ii) better understand empirical observations relating to economic growth, and iii) to better understand economic policy problems and reform proposals related to growth and development. In addition, they will be enabled to understand the usefulness and limits of abstract economic models of the macroeconomy.
